A picture of us in Rome, a picture of you standing alone showing off your brand new shoes outside the Coliseum, things we lost in the fire. My collection of tickets from old movie shows, the only scarf that you ever owned, the poem you wrote when we first met that afternoon in the middle of June, things we lost in the fire. Happiness, confidence, the feeling of being blessed. The last spark had to die in our final attempt to save ourselves, things we lost in the fire.

Shadows 02:57
We sang our songs with such belief that we could change just about anything. But the facts of life was crawling up behind us and could so easily brake us. Those shadows that used to haunt me still lurks in the distance like in the wizard of Oz. I was never meant to be without you, that’s funny in a way ´cause I could never reach you. I could never reach you. Now you finally left these fields for that flourishing land, where your dreams seems real and there’s gold instead of sand, count backwards from ten, count backwards from ten and when you count backwards, remember me then.

Spain 03:51
I don’t know you, but I know your girlfriend, she’s hiding somewhere in Spain. She wrote that she might come and see me, if the weather should ever change... So why should it ever change? I read somewhere that the... Unexpected always happens, so what the hell am I waiting for. I knew there were something special, from the moment that I met her, lingering between the lines... And why would that ever change? One more beer and I’ll take you all, I’m telling you, you don’t wanna mess around. Feeling low and feeling down, I fall off my chair and I hit the ground. Laugh all you want boys.. `Cause why would I ever change? You’re a better friend than I. You’re a better friend than I. You’re a better friend than I will ever be... That I’ll ever be...

Laughing our heads off, imagining how things would seem. Comparing the obvious and the differences that might be. Eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. We both sell our lies while we tell the truth. You know, all the scars that I bare is the result of letting someone in. Memories are such beautiful things if you don’t have to deal with the past. You know what I came for, I’m not that hard to see through.

Thinking ´bout better days and what may have been what we were searching for. Thinking ´bout yesterdays. I feel a draft and the phone keeps ringing, to tired to speak to anyone. Leave me alone, don’t leave me alone. Gotta keep breathing. Gotta keep breathing. Like she said, there’s been quite sometime since she last saw me. My mind play tricks on me. Do your mind play tricks on you too? Gotta keep breathing. Gotta keep breathing. Thinking ´bout better days and what may have been what we were searching for. Thinking ´bout yesterdays Gotta keep breathing. Gotta keep breathing.

Have you told him all about your dreams, have you told him what your goal is? And that you might leave with the morning train, if the world’s closing in? Did he stutter or did he laugh, was his reaction what you expected, were there questions ´bout your past or didn’t he even care? I could never come across as wise or sincere, and I would never worry ´bout tomorrow. The chili winter came and it took us by surprise, and you got those wrinkles round your eyes. Have you told him all about your fears, have you told him what what really scares you? ..to end up alone or get stuck in someone else’s dreams. But the dream I had wasn’t mine alone, you filled in more than just the blanks. And by the way I stole this song and I’ll never give it back. I could never come across as wise or sincere, and I still never worry ´bout tomorrow. But the chili winter came and it took us both by surprise. Now it’s been a while since you occupied my mind.
